Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Remote - United States)

The role is for a Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Solventum, a healthcare company focused on creating innovative solutions to improve patient and healthcare professional outcomes. The position involves leading software assurance activities throughout the medical device software lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and acting as a quality champion within the software development team.

Location: Remote in United States (preferred near Eagan, MN or San Antonio, TX)

Salary: $124,000 - $170,500 per year (US Applicants Only)

Responsibilities

• Lead software assurance activities throughout the medical device software lifecycle, including creating software quality assurance plans, determining safety classification, and ensuring release readiness.
• Participate actively in the software team during the entire software lifecycle, including audits, reviews, and providing insights on project status and quality metrics.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, perform gap assessments, and escalate major issues affecting safety, cybersecurity, or usability.
• Act as a quality champion in software product development and testing teams.
• Support other software-related processes such as CAPA, cybersecurity risk management, and software quality assurance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security, or Information Science with 5 years of experience in software quality assurance in medical device, aerospace, or automotive industry.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with 7 years of experience in the same industries.
