Oracle Applications Developer Senior

The Senior Oracle Applications Developer supports, analyzes, troubleshoots, and develops Oracle-based applications for the Arizona Department of Revenue, focusing on tax accounting systems. The role involves designing and developing client/server solutions to meet business needs, with potential for remote work within Arizona.

Location: Phoenix, AZ, USA

Salary: $94,600 Annually

Responsibilities

• Analyzes requirements and provides feedback to Business Analysts and Business prior to finalizing requirements.
• Provides input to Business Analysts and Project Managers to meet functional and technical design needs.
• Proposes solutions to Business Analysts and business.
• Recommends improvements to existing code.
• Conducts peer reviews with peers, Business Analysts, and Test Team.
• Develops new applications and/or functionality to meet defined requirements and technical designs.
• Creates deliverables according to the Software Development Life-Cycle.
• Works with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and provide feedback.
• Contributes to the completion of technical projects and specifications.
• Analyzes and resolves production problems in a timely manner.
• Proposes solutions and communicates those to peers and clients.
• Conducts performance tuning, reviews, and application testing.
• Reviews and recommends improvements to existing code.
• Provides support to Oracle Support Team with application issues.
• Remains current on laws, regulations, policies, and best practices related to job duties.
• Attends staff meetings and completes required training.
• Participates in work teams and may complete metrics, projects, and reports.
• Prepares for and participates in coaching sessions.
• Maximizes work processes through lean principles within the Arizona Management System.
• Assists in training new employees and provides guidance to junior developers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of applicable programming languages and development platforms.

• Knowledge of NoSQL Databases.
• Knowledge of financial applications (bank/taxes).
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps for code migrations.

Additional Information

• Requires a minimum of eight years programming experience, with at least three in development.
• Experience with Oracle Forms, PLSQL, Oracle Reports or Oracle Analytic Publisher.
• Experience with Linux OS and shell scripting.
