Oncology Data Specialist Coordinator - Remote

The role involves coordinating and serving as a coach and educational resource for cancer registry staff, overseeing hospital-based cancer registry responsibilities, and participating in cancer data management and reporting.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and serve as a coach and educational resource to cancer registry staff.
- Oversee all responsibilities of the hospital-based cancer registry, including patient chart abstracting, case finding, follow-up, coordinating cancer conference, and updating state edits.
- Compile and present cancer statistics to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Assist in the Commission on Cancer certification process by generating reports and managing data collection.
- Oversee the quality physician review process by gathering patient record information, instructing physicians on cancer abstracting, and reporting trends to the Cancer Committee Liaison.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology, Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cancer Registry operations or highly relevant clinical experience.
- Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR).
- Excellent people skills and effective written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Ability to set and maintain priorities.
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
