Kubernetes Engineer

SOSi is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to support mission requirements for developing, integrating, and maintaining a scalable, federated data ecosystem for a DoD customer, focusing on interoperability, governance, and analytics.

Responsibilities
- Configure, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters tailored for each IL environment (IL2, IL4, IL5), ensuring support for ESRI ArcGIS services and integration with agency-provided infrastructure.
- Develop and manage Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators for declarative deployment and automated scaling of ESRI services, including Notebook Server and GeoAnalytics Server.
- Configure persistent volume claims and provision container-native storage (e.g., AWS EBS, Azure Disks) to support ESRI workloads, ensuring durability and compliance with backup and recovery policies.
- Integrate Kubernetes-native monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Fluentd, or OpenTelemetry) to support observability and IL-compliant reporting across environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in Kubernetes administration.
- Demonstrated experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters, troubleshooting containerized applications, and implementing service mesh architectures such as Istio or Linkerd.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Knowledge and capability to design, deploy, and manage containerized applications in a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes.
- Proficient in Kubernetes cluster orchestration, container networking, Helm chart deployment, and automation of CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Azure, GCP), security best practices, and Kubernetes monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
