Information Security Training Awareness Lead

The Hanover is seeking an experienced Information Security Training Awareness Lead to develop and implement security training, awareness, and outreach programs to enhance cybersecurity culture across the enterprise. The role involves collaboration with multiple departments, program strategy, instructional design, outreach, metrics analysis, and risk mitigation.

Location: Worcester, MA or remote

Salary: $82k–$110k

Responsibilities

• Lead responsibility on course development of annual training and awareness plans aligned with regulatory requirements, threat landscape, and organizational goals.
• Design and execute phishing simulations and insider threat training programs based on NIST standards.
• Create engaging, multi-modal training content tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Translate complex security concepts into accessible learning materials.
• Deliver presentations and facilitate training sessions at all organizational levels.
• Build outreach network as liaisons between the CISO office and business units.
• Develop and distribute awareness materials via newsletters, forums, digital signage, and online platforms.
• Establish and maintain an online hub for training resources.
• Create communications for active social engineering campaigns.
• Develop and maintain KPIs and metrics to measure training effectiveness.
• Analyze trends and performance data to identify improvement areas.
• Collaborate with GRC team for compliance and risk reporting.
• Prepare executive summaries and board reports.
• Partner with Legal, HR, SOC, and Communications to address insider threats and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support incident response through education and outreach.
• Promote understanding of security responsibilities and policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, instructional design, or adult education.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with security training platforms (e.g., Proofpoint).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, MITRE) preferred.
• Experience designing and delivering training in virtual and matrixed environments.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Skilled in multimedia and web design tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, webinar platforms).
• Ability to influence stakeholders and execute strategic plans.
