HSE Supervisor of Construction & Commiss (Remote (US))

The Voith Group, a global technology company with a broad portfolio in energy, paper, raw materials, and transport & automotive, is hiring a Remote HSE Supervisor of Construction & Commissioning. The role involves supporting complex infrastructure and renewable energy projects across North America, ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities
- Support implementation of site-specific HSE plans, including Site Safety Management Plans, Job Safety Analyses, Emergency Response Plans, and Environmental Protection Plans.
- Ensure consistent application of HSE requirements across all project phases: pre-mobilization, mobilization, construction/commissioning, and demobilization.
- Conduct routine field inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure safe work practices.
- Support high-risk operations such as hazardous material management, lifting and rigging, electrical work, confined space entry, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Provide on-site HSE support during client audits, regulatory inspections, and critical project activities.
- Support implementation of environmental controls including spill prevention, waste management, and environmental protection during construction.
- Participate in incident investigations, including data collection, root cause analysis, and development of corrective actions.
- Deliver and support HSE campaigns, site orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Promote key HSE behaviors and programs such as Stop Work Authority, behavioral safety, hazard recognition, and risk tolerance.
- Act as a liaison between site supervisors, project teams, HSE managers, clients, and contractors.
- Identify opportunities for improving HSE performance, safety culture, and compliance.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Certifications such as CHST, ASP or equivalent, OSHA 500 (preferred).
- Minimum 3–7 years of HSE experience in construction, commissioning, heavy-industrial, or energy sectors.
- Experience supporting multi-site or project-based HSE programs (preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards, site-specific safety planning, environmental compliance, and industrial HSE risks.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence safe behaviors and enforce compliance in dynamic field environments.
