HR Generalist

Check Off Your List (COYL) is a business support team seeking a part-time HR Generalist to support internal HR operations and provide HR services to clients, supporting small businesses and expanding HR capabilities.

Location: Remote (US)

Responsibilities

• Assist with COYL hiring needs, including job postings, applicant screening, and interview coordination.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes for internal team members.
• Maintain accurate HR documentation, including handbooks, policies, and compliance files.
• Assist with employee relations, engagement activities, internal communication, and culture initiatives.
• Track HR metrics, employee files, review schedules, and required documentation.
• Support COYL clients by performing a wide range of HR activities, including planning and supporting employee engagement initiatives, auditing and enhancing onboarding and offboarding processes, tracking and organizing employee concerns and HR-related communication, assisting with salary and benefits audits, supporting employee benefits questions and documentation, creating training programs, preparing employee development tracks and performance-management tools, creating and updating review templates, assisting with scheduling and coordinating performance reviews, tracking documentation for compliance, drafting job descriptions, conducting screening calls, running background checks, preparing offer letters, monitoring employment law updates, preparing compliance forms, creating and updating employee handbooks, supporting mission, vision, and values development, and refining HR policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of HR fundamentals, compliance, and employment practices.
• Experience supporting multiple stakeholders, clients, or departments simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• High professionalism, confidentiality, and emotional intelligence.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks across multiple clients.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable working in a remote environment.
