Event Manager I

The role of Event Manager at Compassion International involves managing logistics and on-site execution for conferences, meetings, and special activities, supporting contracting, budgeting, and KPI/ROI tracking, and providing support to donor-facing teams. The position requires independent coordination of complex initiatives within a fast-paced environment, with potential coaching responsibilities.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $80,170.00 - $94,197.40

Responsibilities

• Manage logistics and on-site execution for conferences, meetings, and events.
• Coordinate and execute meetings, events, and activities including task lists, timelines, invitations, registration, accommodations, transportation, communication, vendor management, and reporting.
• Liaise with external partners, research venues, and facilitate agreements for transportation, meals, lodging, speakers, and AV support.
• Monitor event success expectations, maintain intake systems, and track KPIs/ROI, including surveys and feedback implementation.
• Partner with staff to support donor engagement and revenue outcomes, ensuring excellent attendee experience.
• Collaborate with teams for resource development, marketing materials, and media preparation.
• Serve as a communication link with hotel and venue staff.
• Coach and support other professionals in event relations, and handle administrative tasks such as invoice review, payments, contract administration, and recordkeeping.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Seven years relevant experience in event management, including corporate events.
• Cvent software platform experience preferred.
• Current Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification preferred.
• Self-starter with proactive problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and professionalism.
• Flexibility and resilience in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for 8-12 hours at events.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
