Engineering Manager, Convert ROI

Location: Remote (Argentina)

Responsibilities

• Set the long-term technical vision and architecture for backend systems powering experimentation, personalization, analytics, and conversion optimization.
• Architect and evolve high-throughput distributed systems and APIs that ingest, process, and serve large volumes of visitor and event data with low latency, high availability, and strong consistency guarantees.
• Lead foundational platform investments and the data infrastructure supporting them.
• Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, and product engineers to productionize statistical and AI/ML capabilities into reliable, real-time backend infrastructure.
• Lead complex, multi-team, multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing to operational ownership.
• Influence the engineering roadmap and technical strategy across the Convert pillar and partner pillars.
• Raise the engineering bar through architecture review, technical standards, observability, and operational excellence.
• Mentor and grow staff and senior engineers.
• Stay current with industry trends in distributed systems, experimentation platforms, real-time data, and AI/ML infrastructure.
• Translate product vision into technical problems and execution plans.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including building and operating backend and distributed systems at scale.
• Strong foundation in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, with knowledge of frameworks, distributed systems patterns, and system design.
• Experience designing, building, and operating high-throughput, data-intensive distributed systems with an understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, observability, and performance.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on complex initiatives.
• Ability to partner with product, design, data science, and ML stakeholders.
• Strong judgment, clear communication, and pragmatic decision-making.
• Proactive in embracing AI and emerging technologies.
