Director, Product Engineering

Location: Remote US (East Coast preferred)

Salary: $160,000–$240,000 USD per year, plus potential variable bonus

Responsibilities

• Define and implement strategic technical direction and engineering best practices.
• Foster a culture of quality, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering teams.
• Oversee architecture and technical decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term vision.
• Stay abreast of AI and machine learning technologies to optimize workflows and developer productivity.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering talent.
• Drive career development and performance objectives.
• Manage growth and expansion of engineering capabilities globally.
• Provide coaching, leadership, and technical guidance to teams and managers.
• Lead the adoption of modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, Cloud-native practices).
• Establish robust QA practices including automation and testing strategies.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, compliance, security, and performance benchmarks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align on product goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Communicate strategies and progress to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred in healthcare, life sciences, computer science, or related fields.
• 12+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience.
• 5+ years managing software engineering teams.
