Designer

The role is for a multi-disciplinary creative at TED Brand Creative, responsible for conceptual visual work, brand system development, and execution across various platforms, reporting to the Design Director.

Location: New York City, NY, or remote

Salary: $75,000–$83,000/yr

Responsibilities

• Work within TED Brand Creative's concept-focused and strategic design process.
• Create impactful concepts, experiences, designs, and identities for TED's brand and initiatives.
• Design at a high level and provide a strong creative point of view.
• Concept and execute identities and brand systems for video series, podcasts, conferences, and initiatives.
• Extend design systems for events to environmental graphics, books, stage design, digital marketing, social media, screen environments, signage, merchandise, etc.
• Create original artworks for TED's editorial channels.
• Own print production from layout to vendor handoff, including signage and conference materials.
• Present designs and concepts clearly and convincingly.
• Receive and apply feedback to improve work and provide constructive feedback to others.

Requirements

• 3+ years of graphic design experience.
• Based in NYC preferred.
• Broad interests in graphic design, including illustration, motion, photography, 3D, etc.
• Expert fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign and Photoshop.
• Working knowledge of designing for print.
• Expertise in Figma and knowledge of digital design systems.
• Experience designing marketing assets for email, social media, display, and web is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills from concept to delivery.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Curious and culturally engaged, exploring new technologies and trends.
