In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across biology AI training projects, ensuring scientific accuracy, clarity, safety, and adherence to guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Quality monitoring: Spot-check biology items, identify quality issues, provide ongoing feedback, and escalate issues.
- Scientific review: Evaluate AI-generated biology explanations, mechanisms, reasoning, terminology, and problem-solving for correctness and clarity.
- Trainer and QA communication: Update trainers and QAs on guidelines, project changes, workflow updates, and review standards.
- Question handling: Respond to trainer/QA questions on biological reasoning, terminology, experimental design, safety, and rubric interpretation.
- Trainer/QA activation management: DM inactive contributors, encourage activation, track follow-ups, and flag availability issues.
- Documentation: Create and maintain biology project documentation, style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
- Onboarding and training: Schedule and run onboarding/training calls to explain project expectations, workflows, rubrics, and standards.
- Quality alignment: Ensure consistent application of biology guidelines and understanding of updates.
- Risk and safety review: Flag unsafe, misleading, or overconfident biology recommendations, especially related to lab procedures, pathogens, genetic engineering, health claims, environmental impact, or biosafety.
- Process improvement: Identify quality gaps, propose workflow improvements, and help build scalable QA processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Biology or related field.
- Strong English communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience in biology research, laboratory work, teaching, scientific writing, or related workflows.
- Strong understanding of core biology topics.
- Ability to evaluate biology content against detailed rubrics.
- Familiarity with biology tools or workflows (preferred).
- Experience leading or supporting remote teams (preferred).
- Comfortable working in remote environments with collaboration tools.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Experience with AI training, data annotation, or scientific content QA (plus).
